After the ‘Dutch Directors Guild Award’ and the ‘Cinetrofa Award of the Portugese Trofa Film Festival’, both in 2014, Menno Otten wins with his short documentary Via Dolorosa the ‘Best Cinematography Award’ at the Bucharest International Film Festival (BIEFF).
Jury:special focus on the binaural recordings and the sound design.
VIA DOLOROSA, a documentary from director Menno Otten, has won the Dutch Directors Guild Award 2014 for short documentaries as well as the Cinetrofa Award of the Portugese Trofa Film Festival. Later this year it will be presented in the Santa Fe Filmfestival (2014). The first screenings were in the IDFA 2013. The documentary shows the centuries old passion shared by the penitents taking part in Málaga’s Semana Santa processions and the crowds that flock to see them.
