The tiny bridgeman’s house at the Nieuwe Tolbrug has views from every side. Inside, a small group of people, no more than …at the time, is listening to the sounds of a three dimensional soundscape coming in through headphones. Their eyes are searching the landscape for clues to the sounds that are invading their ears and touching chords within. The sounds are messengers of transition.. a time of day, the time of year, a phase of life, a disappearing profession. They accompany the landscape, some for a brief moment while others linger, and will disappear or have disappeared already. Together they form a panorama of sound with ever-changing views.
‘A sound panorama of the Temporary’ was commissioned by Kunstgebouw. The work has been purchased.
