Robert Steijn in his profession as choreographer www.unitedsorry.com and I start a research, how sound and movement sense (the public) space in a different way and how these two senses- the auditive and the kinesthetic- influence each other.
We explore how the auditive sensing of a space triggers the physical body and how it informs the body to move or dance into that space.
We investigate if dance or movement can augment or contradict this parallel reality. In his work Robert investigated dance as a tool to travel into other imaginary realities, influenced by his curiosity of shamanic trance dance.
We research these questions, by giving workshops for sound designers and choreographers and by organizing residencies where sound artists, dancers and choreographers can explore together.
Our first public activity will be a workshop of one day at the Spazio meeting, a European network for dance creation, hosted by the ICK in Amsterdam. www.ickamsterdam.com
